Drywall anchors [2]
Density Bracket [1]
Hex key

Not Included:

Drill
Hammer
Level
Pencil
Measuring tape
3/16 inch drill bit

Installing the wall mount

  1. Ensure bottom of bracket is between 7.5 - 10 feet above the floor. There must be at least 5 inches of clearance from the bottom of bracket to the ceiling.
  1. Center the unit horizontally above the doorway*. Use the level to ensure the bracket is parallel to the ground, then use a pencil to mark the center of the bracket holes. Also mark a straight line on the top edge of the bracket.

*If there are any objects obstructing the unit, you may install the unit 'slightly' off-center or consider moving the obstruction. Please consult your Density Account Manager before doing this.

  1. Drill a hole through each pencil mark using a 3/16 inch drill bit. Holes should have a depth of at least 1 inch.
  1. Use a hammer to tap the drywall anchors into each hole. Anchors should be flush with wall.
  1. Use pilot holes to place bracket in a level and straight position. Use a drill or phillips head screw driver to drive each screw into the drywall anchors.
  1. Plug in ethernet cable.
  1. Slide the Density DPU onto the installed bracket.
  1. To lock the device to the bracket, use the provided hex key and twist the set screw all the way in.

Installation complete!

Density offers a Ceiling Mount Kit* which includes a custom Utility Bracket for easy mounting directly above a doorway.

Ceiling mounting is an option for thresholds with less than 5 inches of available wall mounting surface above the door frame. Please consult your Density Account Manager to assess if ceiling mounting is a good option.

* Ceiling Mount Kit is provided at an additional cost.

What you need

Included:

Threaded rod
Toggle anchor
Density Utility Bracket
Hex key

Not Included:

Drill
Measuring tape
1.25 inch hole saw

Installing a ceiling mount

  1. Mark a spot 1-2 inches away from the doorway that is centered above the door. Drill a hole using the 1.25 inch hole saw.
  1. Screw the Utility Bracket and Toggle Anchor onto the threaded rod. The threaded rod should be twisted into the Toggle Anchor so that the top of the rod is flush with the top of the anchor. The Utility Bracket should be twisted completely onto the rod until tight.
  1. Lock the Utility Bracket to the rod using the provided hex key, twisting in both set screws on either side of the Utility Bracket.

Fold the Toggle Anchor flaps down as shown, then insert the rod and anchor through the hole. The Toggle Anchor flaps will spring open again, securing it to the ceiling.
  1. Plug in ethernet cable.
  1. Slide the Density DPU onto the Utility Bracket.
  1. To lock the device to the Utility Bracket, use the provided hex key and twist the set screw all the way in.

Installation complete!

If mounting directly to the face of a surface is undesirable (ie: metal door frames with glass facades), you can use Density's Utility Bracket* to mount to the top of the frame.

* Utility brackets will be provided by Density at an additional cost.
